Companion Planting

Companion planting is a method that diversifies our garden where we closely planting two or more plants that have a mutual benefit.  Our companion, Mitch will teach us all about it!

Find out more about which flowers or beneficial plants form symbiotic relationships.

You could try interplanting crops, plant in something new just as the other is ready to harvest! This will maximise your yields and weeds won't get into empty spaces.

Mitch shares examples of the Tomato's favourite plant pairings. Mariogolds attract the right kind of insects for your toms and Basil makes the Tomatoes taste better from the pheromones underground. In return, the Tomato gives them both dappled shade. They all love the same growing conditions.

TOP TIP: if plants taste good together they grow well together too!
