Flea Beatles are a tricky pest as they are hard to spot. They get their name because of the way they jump and you will know they've visited your patch when you find holes in your Brassicas, Pak Choi or Radish.
Join Kate today who'll explain what the damage of these tiny pests looks like & how to manage them in a natural way!
They live in the soil, so the best thing to do is ensure your patch is free of them before planting and then fleecing straight away. The damage almost makes the leaves look like lace.
A chemical-free (& fun!) way to combat them if you've noticed damage is to make a DIY bug board: sticky tape attached to a bit of cardboard! Gently brush your hand across the leaves and try and catch them as they jump. However, we don't suggest leaving this cardboard around as it can pick up bugs you don’t want to kill!
