Mixed Floral Bouquet

This special lesson with Kate is an online workshop for mixed flower arranging!

Which flowers did you grow this year? As you know, growing flowers alongside your veg has a huge impact on the biodiversity of your patch, as well as bringing colours to your space. Why not take some of this joy back home or create a gorgeous gift for a friend?

Kate shares with us the flowers she loves to grow and how to use a variety of textures and heights to bring sculptural beauty to bouquets. She shows us how to make floral displays with herbs & wildflowers alongside annuals and perennials.

Fill a bucket with fresh cold water to pop your flowers in as you harvest. Try to cut your flowers in the morning or evening, avoiding the midday sun will prevent wilting.

Use thick stems for support, and remove lower leaves to get creative with your bunch of blooms. Have fun, and enjoy the seasonal changes of colours in the garden!

TOP TIP: Leave some flowers to finish their lifecycle for insects and birds & seed heads can be dried for indoor winter bouquets.
