Chard Clearing

Swiss Chard comes in all different colours of the rainbow! It's so gorgeous against other plants in the patch & is a versatile ingredient. Here's Mitch who, in this lesson, will show you how to clear Chard the No Dig way!

Chard is a hardy Biennial plant, if we have a mild winter you can keep them in the ground, grow again next year & harvest throughout the seasons.

Perhaps you'd like the space back to prep the patch for winter and grow something new in the space next season. So, to clear the Chard completely, cut it at the base with a trowel or a knife. Let the roots become home for worms and be eaten up by the microbes under the soil!

Food for Thought: Chard can grow up to 28 inches tall! Incredible!
