Marigolds Clearing

We are back in the Greenhouse to do some more bed preparation! It's time to carefully clear the Dwarf French Marigolds.

These are some of the best companion flowers to grow with your vegetables. Other companion plants such as calendula & nasturtiums drop many more seeds that easily germinate, which may cause extra weeding for you.

These beauties have helped pollinate and deter pests, but have now died back. Charles shows us how to gently remove the plants, cutting around the roots without disturbing the soil above and below the surface.

Now these old Marigolds will be an excellent addition to your compost ready for next season!
