Clearing Peas
Peas helpfully give good indicators of when they have finished cropping. You might notice the leaves yellowing and that the flowers have stopped producing.
Similarly to Beans, Peas create the plant superfood - NITROGEN! Therefore leaving the roots in the ground for worms & microbes is essential for soil life and also provides excellent conditions for succession planting.
Ed is clearing away this season's pea plants and is ready to introduce something new to this space. Using the No Dig technique, snip the roots at surface level and simply clear the remaining bush up & into the compost bin.
