Clearing Peas

Once you've harvested all your gorgeous peas and the plants are coming to the end of their life, it's time to clear the plants to make space for a new planting.

The best way to tell when the plant has finished harvesting is that the leaves will start to turn yellow and they'll stop producing flowers.

Peas have very deep roots that pull up nitrogen from deep within the ground and for this reason we leave the roots in so these minerals stay in the ground and feel the microbial life!

So grab your snips, and snip at the base of the plant before pulling out all the plants and chopping them up into your compost.
