Multi Sown Beetroot Harvesting

In this lesson, Charles Dowding's Beetroots were sown in the middle of March, he recommends fleecing them over to help them grow quicker. He'll share some interesting facts about this 'root' veg.

You should be able to start harvesting your first Beets in June. So, let's find out how we harvest Beetroots the No Dig way!

With multi-sown Beetroots, keep your hands on the other beets as you twist out your crop, so as not to destroy their intertwined roots. Make room for further growth over the next month, by twisting out as they become big enough to eat, leaving the smaller ones in the ground!

You also have another harvest, all the leaves are edible and packed full of nutrients. You often get damage to the leaves on beetroot just as you do with Chard, this is caused by the common pest Leaf Miner, it hides inside leaves so you wouldn’t be able to see it
