Rhubarb Harvesting
Rhubarb is a delicious early crop, and is really easy to take home and cook into a compote or crumble! Ed will show you how to harvest for a healthy plant & chat more about this interesting plant!
When your rhubarb stalks have got to a good size & a pretty pink colour, refer to this video harvesting tips.
Head to your patch with some snips or a knife. It's important to say that the ONLY part of the rhubarb you will be eating are the stalks as the leaves & root are poisonous!
TOP TIP: Rhubarb loves shade which is why they produce such enormous leaves, extra shade makes a sweeter flavour in the stalks. Placing a pot over the stalks while growing is called 'forced rhubarb'.
