Seed Hunter, Mitch has been growing lots of delicious varieties of Kale this year, including Curly, Cavello Nero & dazzling blue. Let's join him in the garden to harvest some!
Harvest in a cut-and-come-again way, snap down on the leaves & pull.
It's best to harvest multiple plants in your patch, giving the plants a chance to replenish, their long stems will push out new foliage as the plant grows. Leave the top cluster of baby leaves growing at the top so you'll have more to harvest soon.
When it comes to clearing your kale, we remove it from the base of the plant, as it's important that the roots remain in the soil. They are notorious for their thick & strong stems so you will need secetuers or perhaps even a saw to get through them! Depending on how long they've been growing, they can be quite woody.
